Approach

University of Passau site map

By train:

Destination: railway station Passau HBf, from there take a taxi to the university or walk (about 20 minutes).

By car:

Highway A3 (Nuremberg - Regensburg - Passau - Linz) exit Passau-South (Passau-Süd), take direction Passau center.

In Passau, coming from the Neuburger Straße at the turnoff to the Danziger Straße do not follow the “Stadtmitte” traffic sign but stay straight until the turnoff into the Leonhard-Paminger-Straße to the right. There—at the television tower—turn right (follow the signs to the hospital). Drive down the hill passing the hospital and turn left at the junction into the Innstraße. After about 300m straight ahead you will see the post of the university in front of its administration building. Turn right here entering Rektor-K.-H.-Pollok-Straße and stop after about 100m in front of the black building (ITZ).

A FORWISS staff member will open the gate to the basement garage where you can park the car. All the ITZ's inner courtyard is a no-parking-area and a ticket is almost guaranteed.

FORWISS Passau is located on the third floor (or second floor for those who prefer the British numbering style of floors) of the large glassy black building.

By airplane:

Airport Munich Franz-Josef-Strauß. Take the urban railway (S8) to Munich central station and take the train to Passau.

Alternatively you can take the airport shuttle bus to Freising where you can catch the train to Passau. That could somewhat improve your traveling time but is only recommendable for experienced users of the public transportation system.
